PRIVACY & DATA PRACTICES
This policy explains how US Election Dashboard handles information when its website, or an Android application that displays the same hosted service, is used.
Last updated: November 1, 2026
US Election Dashboard is an independent election-information project, not a government or election authority. The publisher and privacy contact are listed below. Store listing contact information must remain consistent with the actual publishing account.
The application as currently implemented has no account-registration flow, advertising SDK, in-app payment system or first-party analytics integration. This description must be rechecked against the actual production hosting and Android package before publication.
Technical requests are used to deliver pages, maintain availability, prevent abuse, investigate errors and improve reliability. Locally stored preferences keep the chosen display settings. Correspondence is used to address requests, corrections and support questions.
The application does not use a personal profile to predict political affiliation or voting preference. It does not offer targeted political advertising.
The production host and any failover provider will process technical information needed to serve the application. The project currently intends to use Vercel as primary hosting and may use Netlify for secondary deployment; those relationships must be verified when activated.
Election and civic information comes from publicly described sources, including federal and state records and attributed third-party data providers. Some server-side requests retrieve election information from those providers. The Sources & methodology page identifies the relevant sources and licensing notes.
Links to government agencies, photo credits and other sites lead to independent services. Their operators may collect information under their own privacy policies when those links are opened. A future Android wrapper, browser engine or distribution platform may also have separate data practices governed by its operator.
Theme choices remain in local browser storage until they are changed or cleared. The application may hold temporary client-side election-view data while a page is open. Election provider responses may be cached on the server for reliability; these are public race reports, not user accounts.
Hosting, networking and security systems may use essential cookies or comparable mechanisms and retain operational logs. Exact production cookie behavior, processor names and log-retention periods must be verified and documented before release. There is no built-in account history to delete.
Messages sent to the support contact will be retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, resolve follow-up questions, and meet applicable legal or security obligations. Senders may request deletion where applicable.
The public service is intended to be delivered over HTTPS, with access to operational systems limited. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Users may change the theme, clear local site data, avoid optional external links and contact the publisher with a data request. Rights to access, correct or delete personal information depend on applicable law.
The service is intended as general-interest civic information and is not designed to knowingly solicit personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information through a support message may contact the publisher.
This policy may be updated if the application, hosting providers or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date. Questions, correction requests and privacy inquiries can be directed to the published contact.
